All killers to be arrested within 2 days: SP

Shawdesh Desk: Barguna Superintendent of Police (SP) Maruf Hossain on Saturday said that all the accused in the sensational Rifat Sharif murder case would be arrested within two days.”We aren’t sitting idle. None can escape melting the law gap. All possible ways have been closed to restrict the accused from fleeing,” he told reporters at his office yesterday afternoon.
“It might take two more days to bring all the accused to book,” the SP said, adding, police have identified 13 people involved in the killing of Rifat in broad daylight on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, police issued red alert at all international airports, and land and river ports across the country to prevent them from fleeing, he said. he SP said police also have taken at least 15 family members of the accused to grill them to find clue in connection with murder case. The accused are Sabbir Ahmed Nayan Bond, 25, Md. Rifat Faraji, 23, Md. Rishan Faraji, 20, Chandan, 21, Md. Musa, Md. Rabbi Akon, 19, Mohaiminul Islam Sifat, 19, Raihan, 19, Md. Hassan, 19, Rifat, 20, Oli, 22 and Tikatak Hridoy, 21. In the meantime, police in a drive arrested prime accused Nayan’s close aide 23-year old Saimun from infront of Patuakhali Girls’ School on Friday night, said Abul Bashar, Officer-in-Charge of Amtali Police Station.
Saimun is an inhabitant of Barguna Sadar Upazila’s Hazarbigha area and also husband of Mithila Farzan, daughter of VP Mannan, Joint General Secretary of Patuakhali District Unit Awami League, said Mosatfizur Rahman, OC of Barguna Sadar Police Station.
Police detained Saimun to arrest his friend Rabbi Akon, who is accused No. 6 in the sensational murder case, according to him.
Police suspect Rabbi’s connection in the case as his National Identity (NID) Card used for buying a SIM card for Saimun’s wife Mithila. The SIM card was used on the fateful date.. The victim’s father Dulal Sharif accused 12 persons and unnamed six others in a case filed with Barguna Police Station.
